Developing gear bits (font)

Above the whole gear bits font and the faber film book sections. Below is a series of drawings on how I intend to stitch together each letter from the section title in order to create a typographic pattern. Mostly this task was based on randomly putting the letters together in an order that appeared to look right.

Above and example of how I moved the letters into place on Illustrator. Using the pervious experiments as a basis, I then duplicated and flipped the type patterns horizontally and positioned the section title in between. The idea being that the title of each book, author and review would sit in-between the typographic pattern. I am hoping that in designing a kind of identity for each section, each book across the set will have some sort of individuality.
