Display font research

In order to create a typographic pattern to form the basis of the image aspect of my designs I complied a list of display fonts (below) that have pattern like elements to their letterforms.
Taking the letterforms from the words 'faber and faber' I attempted to construct a pattern by stitching together the letters all be it in a random order.
Duplicating and flipping the resulting pattern starts to create the kind of results I'm looking for. Fonts like Hyaline (directly below) and herrliches script (3rd from top) start to become quite interesting but don't seem to have the right visual nature or look for a series of film related books. Nor do they possess any sense of legibility when intending to be read as a spoken word.

Gear bits (directly above) has an interesting pattern like quality yet still retains a fair amount of readability/legibility. I will develop it further because I feel it has more potential than the other experiments but also because I think it has that intricate quality that I think would be best suited to this kind of project.
